Angshuman Hazarika

Angshuman Hazarika has completed his BA.LL.B.(Hons.) degree with specialisation in International Law from Rajiv Gandhi National Law University, Punjab, one of the premier National Law Universities of the country.

He was selected as an International Climate Champion by the British Council in 2007 during his study in Sanskriti, the Gurukul. He was also selected as an Indian Representative for the Chinese Green Journey program of the British Council to undertake a tour of China and Hong Kong on invitation by the British High Commission in Beijing. Angshuman was also selected for a research grant of 2000 pounds and also selected as a mentor for the other students of the International Climate Champions Project of the Country.

In 2012 he was selected with full sponsorship to attend the Oikos Model WTO, 2012 held at St. Gallen University and World Trade Organization Headquarters, Geneva from 15-21 March, 2012. In the same year, he also won The International Climate Champions Programme Meritorious Contribution Award from Hon’ble Mr. Gregory Barker, Minister of State, Department of Energy and Climate Change, United Kingdom. He was also selected as a fully Funded Delegate to attend the Planet Under Pressure Conference by the Oxford University.

In August 2014, Angshuman was selected with full scholarship to attend the Commonwealth Summer School on ‘Global food security: can we feed a growing world’ organised by the Association of Commonwealth Universities at University of Nottingham, Malaysia Campus. He was also selected as the Winner of the Best Paper and Best Research Poster Award at Commonwealth Summer School, 2014. Angshuman has also won awards at several debates and Model United Nations Conferences across the country. He has interned at prominent organisations including Thomson Reuters and The Unique Identification Authority of India. He was also a curator of TEDxRGNUL, the first TEDx event at a National Law School.

He has been awarded with The Jawaharlal Nehru award for international understanding – Dr. Angela Merkel Scholarship for study in Germany by the German Government through DAAD (Germany Academic Exchange Service). He will be pursuing his Masters in Law in European and International Law with specialisation in Foreign Trade and Investment and International Dispute Resolution at the Europa-Institut, Saarland, Germany.
